There were 185 graduates from twelve communities across the state who received Official Citations from the Speaker of the House and Secretary of State. The PLTI was created in 1992 by the Commission on Children as a family civics initiative and the mission of PLTI is to enable parents to become leading advocates for children. The core values of the initiative are respect, validation and a belief that when the tools of democracy are understood, the public will actively engage in civic life.
